Back in March of 2016 my life took a turn for the worst. I was at my lowest. I had come to the realization that I was an alcoholic. At times, I doubted if I really was an alcoholic. I was led to a counselor at Lighthouse Professional Counseling. I didn't know what to expect. I was frightened, nervous, and really didn't want to go. I had seen therapists off and on my whole life. I had to do this though, because this was a whole new ballgame: Alcoholism.
Upon entering Lighthouse Counseling, I noticed right away it was a different environment. I was greeted with a warm smile and hello by Rebecca, the front office manager. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I met with Debbie, my counselor, for the first time.
I still had concerns about me really being an alcoholic. She took her time with me, showed me compassion and caring, and we walked through my doubts and fears together. Well - long story short, I am still being treated at Lighthouse Counseling, I am a recovering
Alcoholic of 2 years!
I have since been diagnosed with Bipolar Type 1 with rapid cycling, PTSD, and Anxiety. It is a struggle every day for me, but I could not do it without Lighthouse Counseling. They understand where I am and what I am going through. Every time I go to counseling there I am seen as a person ~ not as my illness. That in itself is half the battle. They are my light on my darkest days. I thank God for them every day - because I do not know where I would be without them. Therapy will probably be a part of the rest of my life, and I couldn't imagine seeking therapy anywhere else.

Lighthouse Counseling has been a God-send for me. The people who work there are the "best of the best" Mental Health Professionals in this area. But that's not all. They have a heart for God and for people - ALL people. You can feel the love and acceptance when you walk in the door.
If you are in need of help, this is the call you should make. I am so thankful I did!

My experience with Lighthouse Professional Counseling Services has been better than any high expectations that I had going in. In our case it was finding the right counseling establishment for a loved one that had experienced great personal loss at a young age. The Lighthouse has been exactly what we've needed.
The staff at Lighthouse mesh with each other as a family that has a common goal of helping someone that is suffering. The staff has years of experience and a sincere concern for their clients wellbeing. Their approach has been greatly more effective than what we had anticipated. We did not know what to expect, but from the time we walked in the door, we found Lighthouse to be a welcoming place of peace and healing.
I truly believe that if someone were considering counseling as a path to improving their situation, Lighthouse will bring real and positive results that you are searching for.
